Single game tickets for Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park went on sale Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. Fans began lining up at the advance ticket windows as early as Wednesday afternoon, according to the team.
“Once again, our fans have shown tremendous passion for their home team and are more than ready for Phillies baseball,” said John Weber, Phillies Vice President, Ticket Sales & Operations. “In total, over 70,000 single game tickets were sold today, and 3.1 million tickets have been sold to date for the 2012 season. Tickets to the majority of our home games are still available, and we encourage our fans to visit phillies.com.”
Looks like things will stay the same. Through all the bitching and complaining, people still want to see the Phillies. They remain the hottest ticket in town. Should be another fun year at the Bank.

I got the first set of my tickets yesterday, 2 more sets to come. I bought a few more tickets (friends requests) that came earlier.
I’m ready – still the hottest ticket in town.

I havent been to a game since the mid 90′s. I keep thinking once the World Series win gets further removed the steam will run dry. Apparently this isnt the case…

I remember reading George Wills book, he said that there are very few teams that keep winning divisions over and over and over (5 in a row) again. Of course, he wrote the book prior to the Braves run in the 90′s.
Do you live too far away bacardi? CBP is a site to behold even better to be at the game. It would be well worth it, win or lose.

Reading between the lines:
It’ll be harder to get it up to capacity in 2012 than in 2009, but we can still do it.

Not really… 3.1M sold to date, that leaves roughly 480,000K left, or 10 games worth of tickets. Pretty much on par with ticket sales rates from the past 2-3 years.

Well that settles it. I just had a biased assessment from my own experience. I don’t recall them selling “three-packs” in the last few years (only six-packs) ….or single game tickets this early on.

I’ll still go to my usual 8-10 games but, starting with last year and the year before, I really began being more “cheap” with my seat selections. Don’t have a ticket plan….just get them as I want them. Lots of early games are easier to get through the Phillies and lots of times games on Stubhub can be gotten BELOW face value if you wait til the very last minute. If I need to pay a little extra for a premium or hot ticket I might do that once a season…like last year’s division clincher.

I think Stubhub used to (maybe still does??) have an office in the Holiday Inn on Packer Ave…. so you can search tickets, and literally pick them up on the way to the game … like Chuck said – sometimes at or below face value…
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday games usually go cheaper – and games when the kiddies are still in school … so weeknight games in April, May ..September.. you can get decent deals on Stubhub

I didn’t know they had an office, but by checking the website a few hours before game time you can usually find printable tickets at decent prices.

Almost all seats available now are either in the 400 section or in standing room only. Good luck finding anything else.
