The Phillies have yet again added to their offseason shopping list. This time, they’ve reeled in a right-handed relief pitcher by the name of Chad Qualls. The 33 year-old Qualls has 8 major league seasons under his belt. In those 8, he’s garnered a career 38-34 record and a 3.78 ERA.
Qualls last pitched for the San Diego Padres, where he appeared 77 times. Although posting a 6-8 record with a 3.51 ERA. He put it in gear for his last 19 games where he held opposing hitters to a .219 batting average and had a 1.96 ERA. Qualls has 51 career saves in his career.
With the addition of Qualls, the Phillies have bolstered their bullpen quite well.
