Two people familiar with the negotiations tell The Associated Press that Jimmy Rollins has agreed to a 3-year, $33 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. The deal includes a vesting option for a fourth year.
The people spoke on condition of anonymity today because the agreement is not official.
Rollins appeared to confirm the deal on his Twitter page.
"I see you all know by now. Gotta deal with me for 3 (4) more years!," Rollins posted.
Rollins is a three-time All-Star shortstop and the 2007 NL MVP. He has spent his entire career with the Philllies and was a free agent for the first time.

Glad to see Jimmy stay with one organization. We need more of this in professional sports. Hope he has three outstanding years with Phillies.
